Cathay Pacific is set to reintroduce non-stop flights between Hong Kong and Adelaide starting November 11, 2025. This service will operate three times a week during the winter season, reconnecting the airline's home hub with South Australia's capital city. Lavinia Lau, Cathay Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, stated: "We are thrilled to be reconnecting our home hub with Adelaide, a bustling city that holds particular significance for Cathay Pacific."

Adelaide marks Cathay Pacific's eighth destination in the Southwest Pacific. The airline already operates year-round services to Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney and offers seasonal services to Cairns and Christchurch.

Lau highlighted the importance of this route: “With our return to Adelaide, we will be operating close to 90 return flights per week to eight destinations in the Southwest Pacific at the peak of this winter season." The Airbus A350-900 aircraft will service this route offering different class options for passengers.

Flight schedules are set from Hong Kong departing at 23:30 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays with arrival in Adelaide at 10:30+1 local time. Return flights from Adelaide depart at 12:00 on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays arriving back in Hong Kong by 17:40.

The Cathay Group continues its expansion efforts as it aims to reach 100 passenger destinations worldwide within the first half of this year. Earlier in 2025, new routes were launched including Hyderabad and Dallas. Upcoming launches include Rome on June 5th followed by Munich on June 16th and Brussels on August 3rd.

Cargo operations will also benefit from this addition as Lau explained that these flights would "enhance options for cargo customers by providing aircraft belly capacity."
