Air France has resumed its nonstop service between Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport and Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. The airline had suspended the route earlier this month due to safety concerns amid escalating geopolitical tensions. After discussions with Israeli aviation authorities and monitoring the situation, Air France decided that conditions were stable enough to restart operations.

The decision contrasts with other major European carriers like British Airways and Lufthansa, which continue to suspend their services to Israel. On May 4, Air France halted its Paris–Tel Aviv flights following missile strikes near Ben Gurion Airport. This incident led several airlines to cancel flights as a precautionary measure.

Air France is now operating daily flights using Boeing 777-300 aircraft. According to Flightradar24 data, today's outbound flight AF0966 departed later than scheduled from Paris-Charles de Gaulle. The airline emphasized that it "constantly monitors developments in the geopolitical situation in the region to ensure the highest level of flight safety and security," as reported by The Times of Israel.

Delta Air Lines has also resumed its service from New York JFK to Tel Aviv on May 20 after conducting an extensive security risk assessment. Delta operates daily nonstop flights using Airbus A330-900neo aircraft.

Other airlines have also restarted their services following individual risk assessments. These include Aegean Airlines, Air Europa, Azerbaijan Airlines, KLM, and Wizz Air.

However, some major European airlines continue suspensions due to ongoing security concerns. British Airways has extended its suspension until at least July 2025, citing logistical and financial impracticalities of alternative arrangements. The Lufthansa Group plans to resume flights mid-June but remains focused on passenger and crew safety amid regional instability.

Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary expressed frustration over disruptions, indicating potential reallocation of aircraft if conditions do not improve. Other airlines like Air Baltic, Air Canada, Air India, Air Seychelles, easyJet, Iberia, United Airlines, and Virgin Atlantic have issued revised suspension timelines for their Israel routes.
