With a fleet of 30 Cirrus, Phenom, and Diamond aircraft, the Emirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA) is expanding its training capabilities by incorporating four distinct aircraft types. This development includes the introduction of Gamebird aerobatic aircraft for upset prevention and recovery training (UPRT), marking a significant advancement in their cadet training program.

The Gamebirds are designed to enhance control and responsiveness, meeting the rigorous demands of cadet training and high-performance flying. Cadets will now complete five hours of UPRT, benefiting from the versatility and advanced technology of these new aircraft.

Captain Abdulla Al Hammadi, Divisional Vice President at EFTA, emphasized the academy's commitment to leading aviation training. "We have remained steadfast and true to our vision – to be at the forefront of aviation training as it’s pivotal in shaping Emirates’ and the industry’s future," he stated. He highlighted that equipping cadets with modern tools ensures they are prepared for their careers from day one. "The Gamebird has elevated our curriculum and will ensure our graduates are equipped with the skills and confidence to excel."

The Gamebird is engineered for operational efficiency with an endurance capability of up to seven hours and 30 minutes, including 1.5 hours dedicated to aerobatic maneuvering.

Recently, EFTA graduated 85 cadets, with over 330 current trainees representing 26 nationalities. The academy's state-of-the-art facility features extensive resources including classrooms, flight simulators, an independent Air Traffic Control Tower, and a dedicated runway.

EFTA was launched by Emirates in 2017 at Dubai World Central (DWC) initially for UAE nationals before expanding internationally. It combines cutting-edge learning technologies with a modern fleet to train aspiring pilots without prior flying experience.
