Air Canada was recognized as the Diversity & Inclusion Team for their CARE model which focuses on Community Outreach, Accountability, Representation, and Engagement & Belonging. Their programs AC Spark and AC Take Off are designed to mentor underrepresented youth in Canada.

Karen Walker, Editor-in-Chief of Air Transport World and Chair of the judging panel stated: “Diversity and inclusion is strategic for aviation as the industry’s growth is contingent upon attracting a strong talent pool with a wide variety of skills."

Willie Walsh, IATA’s Director General commented: “As we mark the seventh year of the IATA Diversity and Inclusion Awards, they continue to play a pivotal role in making aviation a more inclusive and representative industry."

The awards are sponsored by Qatar Airways with each winner receiving $25,000 either personally or directed to charities. Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer from Qatar Airways remarked: “It is affirming to witness our industry blooming on the tenets of diversity and inclusion."

The awards were presented at the World Air Transport Summit following IATA's Annual General Meeting in New Delhi.
