Lufthansa has announced the introduction of unlimited free chatting on its long-haul flights. This service allows passengers to send and receive messages, including photos, using their smartphones or tablets through familiar apps. The service is available to all passengers regardless of their travel class.

The initiative responds to passenger demand for staying connected with family and friends during long flights. "Many passengers would like this free service to be introduced because they want to stay in touch with family and friends via text messages even on long flights," the airline stated.

The free chatting service is supported by Mastercard. To access it, passengers must log in to FlyNet using a Miles & More service card number or an email address registered with Lufthansa Group Travel ID. Registration can also be completed during the flight.
