Delta Air Lines has announced a new multi-airline partnership aimed at expanding international connectivity, with increased access to destinations in India through IndiGo. The announcement was made on the social media platform X.

According to Delta Airlines, the partnership includes Delta, Air France, KLM, Virgin Atlantic, and IndiGo. It is designed to create seamless global travel options across North America, Europe, and India. Customers will benefit from integrated booking systems, streamlined connections, and improved baggage handling across the network. The agreement also enables coordinated frequent flyer benefits and operational alignment.

As reported by The Times of India, IndiGo will serve as the key domestic partner in India. It will provide feed from over 20 Indian cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai into the global networks of Delta and its European partners. This partnership will allow passengers originating in India to access more than 290 destinations globally with simplified transit experiences. Officials emphasized that this arrangement is particularly significant for business travelers and diaspora communities.

According to The Economic Times, this move comes in response to surging demand for travel between India and both the U.S. and Europe. These markets currently face limited nonstop capacity and high fares. Delta and its partners plan to use their existing transatlantic and transpacific infrastructure to bridge this gap using IndiGo’s domestic feed. This strategy is expected to strengthen network resilience while providing a competitive alternative to Middle East carriers.

Delta Airlines was founded in 1925 and is headquartered in Atlanta. It is one of the world’s largest global carriers, serving over 275 destinations across six continents. As a founding member of the SkyTeam alliance, Delta operates major hubs in cities including Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, and Amsterdam. The airline is recognized for its innovation in passenger experience, sustainability investments, and industry-leading operational performance.
