Air India has announced the launch of daily flights to Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia via its Indian hubs. This move aims to offer streamlined layovers and smoother travel options for passengers.

Southeast Asia is identified as a key growth region for Indian air services, with demand rising sharply across pre- and post-pandemic levels. According to CAPA India, international air traffic from India, particularly to Southeast Asia, is projected to grow 9–11% year-on-year in FY2025. This growth is driven by strong tourism and business travel. Air India's introduction of daily flights aligns with wider network expansion trends among Indian carriers targeting this booming corridor.

As detailed in Air India's official X post, the airline now operates daily flights via major Indian hubs such as Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai. The airline promotes these routes by emphasizing quick layovers, convenient scheduling, and a smoother journey for flyers connecting from both domestic and international origins. This coordinated schedule supports seamless travel and enhances the appeal of one-stop itineraries across Asia.

Press releases and route maps on Air India's site confirm these services leverage Boeing 787 Dreamliners and Airbus A320neo family aircraft for optimal range and passenger comfort. Specifically, non-stop services to Kuala Lumpur have operated daily since September 2024. Meanwhile, Delhi–Singapore flights run once daily on B787-9 and twice daily on A321neo—part of improved frequency across East and Southeast Asia. These hardware and frequency upgrades reflect Air India's broader Vihaan.AI modernization plan aimed at enhancing service quality and airline competitiveness.

Air India is the national flag carrier of India, founded in 1932 and now part of the Tata Group. It operates a fleet of Boeing and Airbus aircraft to more than 90 global destinations. As India’s second-largest airline, it became the 27th member of Star Alliance in 2014. The airline is executing a transformation under the Vihaan.AI program to elevate fleet, service, and digital offerings. It is headquartered in Gurgaon with primary hubs at Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.
