United Airlines has announced an expansion of its services to Dublin, Ireland. The airline will now operate daily nonstop flights between Chicago and Dublin Airport throughout the year. Additionally, a second daily service from Newark to Dublin will be available during the summer and winter months.

This decision reflects increased demand for travel to Ireland and will provide more options for travelers through United's major hubs at Chicago O'Hare International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport. "This significant expansion further underlines the importance of Dublin within United’s global network," said Karolien De Hertogh, United’s UK and Ireland sales director.

The new routes are part of a broader expansion by United Airlines, which recently introduced several other international routes. These include flights from Newark to Nuuk, Bilbao, Palermo, and Madeira. The airline is set to offer more seats to Ireland than any other US-based carrier this year.

Passengers traveling from Dublin can take advantage of US Preclearance facilities at the airport, allowing them to clear US immigration before boarding their flight. This enables them to arrive in the US as domestic passengers.

From Chicago, flights will use Boeing 767-300ER aircraft in winter and Boeing 787-8 in summer. Newark services will utilize Boeing 757-200 and Boeing 777-200ER aircraft. Washington Dulles International Airport flights will be operated with Boeing 757-200 planes.

In addition to Dublin, United Airlines also serves Shannon Airport seasonally from Chicago and Newark. Shannon offers US preclearance facilities similar to those at Dublin Airport.

Other airlines operating US-bound services from Shannon include Aer Lingus with year-round flights to Boston and New York JFK, as well as Delta Air Lines with seasonal summer flights from New York JFK.
