Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has announced the availability of a free Metro Connector Shuttle service. This shuttle can be accessed on the Lower/Arrivals Level and provides transportation to the newly opened LAX/Metro Transit Center. The announcement was made on X, a social media platform.

According to LA Metro, the LAX/Metro Transit Center, which cost $900 million, opened on June 6, 2025. It connects the airport to the C and K rail lines and 14 bus routes. This major intermodal hub includes facilities such as elevators, escalators, bike storage, and restrooms. It is located near Aviation Boulevard and 96th Street.

Metro reports that the free Metro Connector Shuttle operates every ten minutes. Pick-up and drop-off points are located at each terminal’s Lower/Arrivals Level under clearly marked pink "LAX Shuttles" signs. This frequent service loops between all terminals and the Transit Center to ensure reliable connectivity.

CBS Los Angeles confirms that the shuttle provides direct service only between LAX terminals and the Transit Center. There are no public or rental shuttles involved in this service, which enhances transfer efficiency while passengers await the future Automated People Mover. The Automated People Mover is scheduled to begin operations in 2026.

Los Angeles International Airport is managed by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA). It is one of the busiest global hubs, handling over 76 million passengers in 2024. LAX is currently undergoing significant modernization efforts, including the new Metro Transit Center and the upcoming Automated People Mover, aimed at streamlining ground transportation and improving passenger experience.
