JetBlue has announced a new initiative allowing passengers to track their checked baggage using Apple AirTags. This move is part of the airline's efforts to enhance customer experience by providing real-time tracking and greater visibility of luggage location. Passengers can now share tracking data with JetBlue's Baggage Service team if their bags go missing, which could lead to quicker reunions with lost items.

According to JetBlue, "customers can generate a Share Item Location link in the Find My app," enabling staff to locate missing bags within JetBlue stations or other contracted facilities. Carol Clements, Chief Digital and Technology Officer at JetBlue, stated, "We are constantly looking for ways to offer our customers a more convenient travel experience."

The airline is also developing a baggage tracker feature within its mobile app. This will cater not only to Apple users but also those with Android devices who do not use AirTags. The app will provide enhanced tracking data and updates in real time, offering passengers peace of mind regarding their luggage.

JetBlue emphasizes that this development is part of its broader strategy to improve customer service through technology. Despite being one of the best US airlines for baggage handling, with fewer than 1% of customers experiencing delays, JetBlue aims to further reduce mishandling incidents and improve recovery processes.
