Virgin Atlantic Flying Club has made headlines with recent changes to its award ticket fees. The program, which introduced dynamic award pricing in late 2024, initially reduced prices and fees on some routes. Business-class fares to Europe were available for as low as 29,000 points and approximately $250 in fees. However, these favorable conditions have shifted.
Following the transition to dynamic pricing, award fees have fluctuated based on route, date, and fare class. Previously, travelers could expect to pay around $250 for a business-class flight to Europe during less busy periods. Now, Virgin Atlantic charges up to $586 one-way for business-class redemptions from the U.S. to the U.K., including flights to Heathrow Airport (LHR) and Manchester Airport (MAN). This change represents more than a doubling of previous fees.
Economy redemption fees from the U.S. to the U.K. have increased from about $75 to $111, while premium economy fees have risen from approximately $106 to $240. Although return journey fees remain unchanged for now, they are already high due to current exchange rates; a business-class fee is 672 British pounds or about $924.
