Aeromexico has announced the launch of new routes, with services commencing between Mexico City and San Juan, Puerto Rico on October 29, and between Cancún and Raleigh, North Carolina from December 18 to April 12. This information was shared in a post on X.

According to Aeromexico's official statement on X, the airline is expanding its international network by introducing these nonstop flights. The new routes aim to provide travelers with more direct vacation options and enhance connectivity between Mexico and key leisure destinations. Aeromexico said that these services are designed to meet the demand for winter and holiday travel while offering greater convenience for passengers.

In a news release from Aeromexico, it was detailed that the Mexico City–San Juan route will operate several times per week. The service aims to promote tourism, facilitate family visits, and support business connections between the two cities. The Cancún–Raleigh service is intended as a seasonal route to capitalize on peak travel periods, catering to both leisure travelers and those visiting friends and relatives (VFR). The introduction of these routes aligns with Aeromexico’s broader strategy of expanding options for international and domestic travelers through targeted route expansion.

The Puerto Rico Tourism Company has indicated that additional nonstop international flights like Aeromexico’s new Mexico City–San Juan route are expected to boost visitor arrivals in Puerto Rico, thereby fostering economic growth in the region. The tourism authority emphasizes that direct air service from major Latin American cities is crucial for enhancing both leisure and business travel, reinforcing Puerto Rico’s status as a premier Caribbean destination. Improved connectivity will also facilitate access for Mexican travelers attending events or visiting family on the island.
