Cathay and the Hong Kong Youth Aviation Academy (HKYAA) have launched two new initiatives aimed at fostering interest in aviation among young people. The projects, AeroQuiz and the Cathay Inter-school Aviation Challenge Cup (CISACC), were announced on June 28, 2025.

AeroQuiz is a web-based platform designed to enhance aviation knowledge through interactive content, including history and theories of aviation. It is open to both schools and the general public from June 28 to November 30, 2025. A dedicated school stream will run until August 31, 2025. Participants can win prizes such as aviation-themed gifts and experiences.

The top-performing secondary schools from AeroQuiz will qualify for CISACC, scheduled for December 13. This competition will involve various aviation-themed challenges with prizes like overseas trips focused on aviation, round-trip flight tickets within Asia, and simulator experiences.

The launch event took place at Cathay's headquarters in Hong Kong, attended by Under Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Clarence Leung, who praised the initiative: "I am delighted to witness the official launch of AeroQuiz and the Cathay Inter-school Aviation Challenge Cup... enabling young people to explore the world of aviation in a fun and engaging competition format."

Lavinia Lau of Cathay expressed enthusiasm about inspiring youth: “At Cathay, we are deeply committed to inspiring Hong Kong’s youth to dream big and reach for the skies.”

Captain Patrick Lau of HKYAA shared his vision: “At the Hong Kong Youth Aviation Academy, we share a common dream — to inspire and nurture the next generation of aviation professionals.”

These initiatives complement Cathay's existing youth development program, I Can Fly, reinforcing its commitment to empowering young people interested in aviation.
