An incident at Boston Logan International Airport involved a Sky Chef catering vehicle colliding with an American Eagle Embraer E175 jet. The driver of the vehicle reportedly sustained minor injuries, while the aircraft was unoccupied at the time of the accident, as reported by Boston 25 News.

The Embraer E175 had arrived from New York JFK Airport late the previous night and was subsequently towed to a hangar for inspection. No updates on its condition have been provided yet.

Republic Airways operates this aircraft and is recognized as one of the largest regional air carriers in the United States. The airline exclusively flies Embraer 170 and 175 jets, with over 240 aircraft in its fleet. Republic Airways serves as a subsidiary carrier for major airlines such as American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines.

In 2021, Republic Airways opened a new training campus and corporate headquarters in Carmel, Indiana. This development came in response to increased demand following the lifting of coronavirus-related travel restrictions. Matt Koscal, Chief Administrative Officer of Republic Airways, stated: "This project ensures Republic is positioned to attract and retain, the most talented and trained professionals in aviation."

Photos shared on social media indicate significant damage to the underside of the aircraft's fuselage. Repairing such damage involves advanced techniques like non-destructive testing methods and stress analysis using Finite Element Analysis.

The affected airplane bears registration number N432YX and has been part of Republic Airways' fleet since its manufacture 11 years ago. Embraer's E175 model is popular among regional airlines due to its spacious cabin design and efficient performance.
