INFORM, a provider of AI-driven optimization solutions for aviation ground operations, has introduced GroundStar (GS) TeamWork. This tool aims to enhance task allocation efficiency for airlines and ground handlers at smaller operations or hubs by supporting frontline managers on the apron or in the terminal.

GS TeamWork is part of the GroundStar software suite and provides a task-based overview of current and upcoming flights, staff deployment, overall capacity utilization, and break planning. It applies to various business areas such as aircraft loading or gate services. The mobile-first web app enables frontline managers to plan and assign tasks through a mobile interface, moving away from manual task allocation methods like paper or spreadsheets.

The tool addresses operational challenges such as overlapping deployment times or uninformed agents by allowing earlier recognition and quicker reactions. In case of disruptions, GS TeamWork’s interface facilitates easy adjustments either manually or with data-driven decision support that optimizes passenger services and ramp operations. Employees receive instant updates via the app regarding delays or changes affecting them.

Michael Reinkober, INFORM product manager, stated: “With our new mobile app GroundStar TeamWork, customers will benefit from many years of experience that we have with all the processes on the apron or in the terminal. We talked with many of them in detailed interviews and site visits to find out exactly how their operation would benefit from a mobile allocation tool.”

By leveraging real-time data and proactive suggestions, frontline managers can address disruptions more swiftly, reducing costly delays and ensuring more efficient ground operations.
