If you frequently fly with American Airlines, there are various credit card options available to help you earn additional miles. Currently, Citi offers a notable deal on the Citi / AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite Mastercard. This card allows users to earn 80,000 miles after spending $3,500 within the first four months of account opening.

Citi is set to become the exclusive issuer of the AAdvantage cobranded card portfolio starting in 2026. The bank provides several American Airlines credit cards, each with unique benefits and welcome offers.

The Citi / AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard offers a welcome bonus of 70,000 miles after spending $7,000 within three months. It includes Admirals Club access for frequent flyers and has an annual fee of $595.

For business travelers, the Citi / AAdvantage Business World Elite Mastercard presents a welcome offer of 65,000 miles after spending $4,000 in purchases within four months. The annual fee is waived for the first year but becomes $99 thereafter.

The entry-level American Airlines AAdvantage MileUp card provides a welcome bonus of 15,000 miles after spending $500 in purchases within three months. It has no annual fee and is suitable for beginners looking to earn American Airlines miles.

"According to TPG's July 2025 valuations," these bonuses have specific values that vary depending on the card type and user needs.

It's important to note that while these cards offer mileage earning potential and perks specific to American Airlines flights, they do not provide travel protections except on the Executive card. Additionally, restrictions apply regarding earning welcome bonuses if similar bonuses have been received in the past 48 months.
