Delta Air Lines is expanding its global reach with the introduction of a nonstop service from Salt Lake City (SLC) to Lima, Peru. This new route, operational from December 4, 2025, to January 25, 2026, marks Delta's first direct connection between Salt Lake City and South America.

“This new route is a significant milestone for Delta and our customers in Salt Lake City and throughout the Mountain West,” said Paul Baldoni, Senior Vice President of Network Planning. “With this expanded connectivity through our Salt Lake City hub, we’re proud to offer a faster, more convenient way to reach Lima and other major cities across South America.”

The flight provides access to one-stop connections from SLC to major South American cities such as São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile, and others. Lima's Jorge Chávez International Airport features a new terminal designed to enhance international transfers.

“The creation of this first-ever nonstop gateway between Utah and South America is an exciting opportunity to build upon Utah’s growing importance on the world stage and it underscores Delta’s commitment to our state,” said Utah Gov. Spencer J. Cox.

Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall remarked on the significance of the route: “This nonstop route will strengthen ties across our continents, spark new opportunities for residents and visitors alike.”

Salt Lake City serves as a key hub for Delta with up to 265 peak-day departures. Bill Wyatt from the Salt Lake City Department of Airports highlighted the route's impact: “The route not only connects the state to 30 destinations throughout South America but will be the fourth continent our passengers will have nonstop access to.”

The flights will feature four product experiences: Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main. Customers in eligible classes can enjoy amenities like lie-flat seats and premium services at the Delta Sky Club.
