Allegiant Air is considering adding inflight Wi-Fi to its planes, according to CEO Greg Anderson. The airline has had initial discussions about equipping its Airbus fleet with Starlink Wi-Fi, similar to United Airlines. Although no agreement has been reached yet, Anderson stated that providing internet access is becoming increasingly important for passengers.

Anderson highlighted that much of the infrastructure needed for Wi-Fi is already available on Allegiant's new Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 jets. However, he did not provide a specific timeline for when the service might be available.

In addition to Wi-Fi, Allegiant is exploring the possibility of introducing premium seating options. Currently, the airline offers "Allegiant Extra," which provides additional legroom in several rows. By the end of this year, 75% of Allegiant's aircraft will feature this option.

While competitors like Frontier Airlines and JetBlue have introduced domestic first-class seats, Anderson said that Allegiant is still evaluating whether there is sufficient demand for more premium seating. He emphasized the importance of studying market trends before making any decisions.

Recently, Allegiant announced the sale of its Sunseeker Resort in Florida. Anderson explained that this move allows the company to focus solely on its core airline operations.

"We are always looking for ways to provide more value to our customers through various products," Anderson noted. "But at the heart of everything we do is this airline."
