American Airlines is set to launch a new grab-and-go lounge at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) this summer. The lounge, named "Provisions by Admirals Club," will be located near Gate A1 in the A Concourse. This marks the airline's first permanent grab-and-go outpost, allowing travelers to quickly pick up drinks, snacks, or sandwiches on their way to their gates.

The new concept aims for "speed, simplicity and convenience," according to American Airlines. Renderings show a carpeted facility with runway views, high-top tables, and spots for grabbing a drink or meal. There will also be a customer service station for members needing travel assistance.

Heather Garboden, American's chief customer officer, stated: "This new concept provides a needed respite for our customers traveling through one of our biggest hubs. Whether they're looking for a quick snack or help on their travel journey, they can find what they need at the Provisions by Admirals Club lounge."

Airlines have been using grab-and-go lounges as temporary solutions during renovations or when facilities reach capacity. However, more airlines are now considering them as permanent options to reduce crowding in main clubs.

To access the new Provisions by Admirals Club location in Charlotte, travelers can have an annual Admirals Club membership or be an AAdvantage Platinum member traveling on a same-day long-haul international flight. Day passes are available for $79 or 7,900 AAdvantage miles.
