Delta Air Lines is set to expand its operations at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) with the introduction of two new nonstop routes. The airline will begin daily service to Hong Kong starting June 6, 2026, and three daily flights to Chicago O'Hare from June 7, 2026. This move highlights Delta's commitment to strengthening LAX as a key gateway for international and domestic travel.

Paul Baldoni, Senior Vice President of Network Planning at Delta, stated: "Launching service to Hong Kong and Chicago from LAX strengthens our presence in two of the world’s most dynamic markets." He emphasized Delta's position as the largest global carrier at LAX and its ongoing investment in important routes for customers.

The new route to Hong Kong offers direct access to a city known for its blend of tradition and modernity. It also enhances Delta Cargo's transpacific network by providing a significant freight corridor between major cargo markets. This service will utilize Airbus A350 aircraft capable of carrying over 20 tons of cargo per flight.

In addition, the route supports the Delta–Korean Air Joint Venture, expanding travel options across the Pacific. The Chicago O'Hare route connects two major U.S. cities known for commerce and culture, offering convenient schedules for both business and leisure travelers.

Doug Webster, Chief Operations and Maintenance Officer at Los Angeles World Airports, expressed support: “As one of the world’s busiest airports, LAX is proud to welcome Delta’s new nonstop service to two critical global hubs."

Delta customers departing from LAX can expect an upgraded airport experience with facilities like the new Delta One Lounge offering premium amenities. In-flight services on these routes include various seating classes with entertainment options and Wi-Fi access.

Delta continues its growth trajectory in Los Angeles with more than 160 peak-day departures serving over 50 destinations. Its $2.3 billion transformation project at LAX includes enhancements such as Terminal 3's modernization and community engagement initiatives throughout Southern California.

With these expansions, Delta aims to further connect Angelenos globally while reinforcing its community partnerships locally.
