Delta Air Lines has announced the launch of a new service to Hong Kong from its hub at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), set to begin on June 6, 2026. The route will be served by Delta's Airbus A350-900, featuring a range of seating options including Delta One Suites and Premium Select recliners. This move marks Delta's return to the Hong Kong market after ceasing operations in 2018 due to low demand.
The airline will also introduce a domestic route between LAX and Chicago's O'Hare International Airport (ORD) starting June 7, 2026. This service will face competition from American Airlines, United Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and Spirit Airlines.
Paul Baldoni, Delta's senior vice president of network planning, commented on the expansion: "Launching service to Hong Kong and Chicago from LAX strengthens our presence in two of the world's most dynamic markets."
