United Airlines has announced its second-quarter financial results, revealing a record-breaking operational performance. The airline operated its largest-ever quarterly schedule in Q2 of 2025, achieving the highest punctuality rate in four years. CEO Scott Kirby attributed this success to the United Next strategy, stating, "Our second-quarter performance was more proof that the United Next strategy is working."
The airline saw a 5.3% increase in available seat miles on international routes and a 6.6% rise in Canadian and domestic US markets compared to the same period in 2024. Despite challenges such as adverse weather and technical issues, United achieved its best on-time departure rate since 2021.
United's regional brand, 'United Express,' also performed well with 28 days of total completion across the quarter. Financially, United reported a $1 billion net income ($1.3 billion adjusted) for Q2 of 2025.
