Breeze Airways has announced an expansion on the West Coast, introducing services to five new cities and launching seven new routes. The airline will commence operations at Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) and California Redwood Coast-Humboldt County Airport (ACV) in California; Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM) near Bend and Eugene Airport (EUG) in Oregon; and Tri-Cities Airport (PSC) in Pasco, Washington. These services are set to begin in March 2026.

"With an expanded West Coast presence that connects travelers to our broader nationwide network, Breeze's service will bring even more options and convenience to these underserved communities," stated David Neeleman, founder and CEO of Breeze.

This announcement comes as Avelo Airlines plans to exit its West Coast markets, including some that Breeze is entering. Avelo has faced difficulties recently while Breeze reported its first profitable quarters since starting operations in 2021. Avelo also encountered criticism for conducting deportation flights for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

A spokesperson for Breeze commented on the timing of their announcement: "While the news certainly cleared an open path, it wouldn't have been possible without dozens of other pieces being in the right place at the right time." They added confidence in their model fitting long-term needs for travelers in areas like Burbank.

The airline has been monitoring opportunities on the West Coast for some time. "We have long been monitoring opportunities to expand our network on the West Coast and hope the news will be a welcome reprieve for travelers in these communities," said Lukas Johnson, Chief Commercial Officer of Breeze.

New routes include ACV-BUR starting March 12 with flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays; BUR-EUG from March 19 on Thursdays and Sundays; BUR-PSC from March 18 on Wednesdays and Saturdays; BUR-Provo Airport (PVU) beginning March 11 with multiple weekly flights; BUR-RDM from March 13 on Mondays and Fridays; PVU-Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) starting March 13 with Monday and Friday flights; RDM-LAS commencing March 13 also on Mondays and Fridays.

Breeze's "BreezeThru" model introduces one-stop routes from Provo allowing passengers to remain onboard during brief stops. All new routes will use Airbus A220-300 jets featuring Wi-Fi and first-class seating. The airline employs a point-to-point operating model focusing on nonstop flights between smaller markets lacking direct air connectivity. Since its inception in 2021 with Embraer jets leased from Azul Brazilian Airlines, Breeze has rapidly expanded its fleet with new Airbus A220 jets. In 2024 alone, it added 29 cities along with 88 routes.
