According to Alaska Airlines’ official X account, the major IT outage occurred late Sunday, resulting in a halt of all flights across both Alaska Airlines and its regional carrier Horizon Air. The disruption affected airports and travelers throughout the airline’s entire network. Alaska Airlines issued repeated updates and guidance for guests, thanking travelers for their patience and emphasizing efforts to quickly restore normal service and support affected passengers.
As reported by USA Today, the outage caused more than 500 flight delays and over 200 cancellations nationwide on Monday. Thousands of travelers were stranded at airports from Seattle to Los Angeles and beyond. Alaska Airlines said that it was collaborating with IT specialists to resolve the technical issues and resume regular flight operations as swiftly as possible.
