Etihad Airways has announced the activation of its codeshare agreement with Ethiopian Airlines, enhancing access to 55 African destinations and connecting Africa with Asia, Australia, and the Middle East through Abu Dhabi and Addis Ababa.

According to the official Etihad Airways X account, this new agreement provides travelers with direct booking access to a broader network across these regions. Passengers can benefit from coordinated schedules, facilitating easier connections between flights operated by both airlines at Abu Dhabi and Addis Ababa. Etihad Airways said that this partnership aims to reinforce both airlines' positions as regional leaders while delivering seamless travel experiences for customers.

Simple Flying reports that the activated codeshare allows Etihad guests to reach up to 55 African destinations on Ethiopian Airlines. Conversely, Ethiopian travelers gain access to Etihad’s global network in Asia, Australia, and the Middle East. This expanded access offers travelers new one-stop options and greater flexibility when planning international journeys.

This partnership facilitates streamlined connections to major cities such as Nairobi, Johannesburg, Sydney, and Bangkok. Etihad Airways describes this development as a significant step forward in its "Beyond Borders" initiative aimed at enhancing network connectivity and customer convenience.

According to the official Etihad Airways website, it is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), headquartered in Abu Dhabi. The airline operates flights to over 60 destinations worldwide and is recognized for its commitment to quality service, innovative onboard experiences, and environmental sustainability. As a key player in global aviation, Etihad Airways connects major regions including the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America via its Abu Dhabi hub.
