Asiana Airlines is planning to significantly reduce its flight schedule between Seoul Incheon International Airport and San Francisco International Airport this winter. According to Cirium, a company specializing in aviation analytics, the South Korean airline will cut its flights by 50% compared to last year's winter season.

Starting in late October, Asiana will operate only five weekly flights on the route from November through December 2025, down from the usual ten. Simple Flying has requested a comment from Asiana Airlines regarding this change.

Asiana Airlines has been operating flights between Seoul and San Francisco since the early 1990s. The airline currently uses Airbus A350-900 aircraft for this route, which can carry up to 311 passengers across three classes. Following a merger with Korean Air, future deliveries of these aircraft are expected to be in Korean Air livery.

The ICN-SFO route covers 4,917 nautical miles and takes up to 11 hours of flight time. Other airlines like Air Premia, United Airlines, and Korean Air also offer direct nonstop flights between these cities.

In addition to the reduction on the San Francisco route, Asiana Airlines will decrease its Seoul–Seattle schedule by 20% for September and October. The service will drop from seven to five weekly flights during these months. The Seattle route is typically operated using Boeing 777-200ER aircraft.

This comes amid broader changes following Asiana's merger with Korean Air. On December 12, 2024, Korean Air acquired a majority stake in Asiana Airlines. The integration process is expected to conclude by December 2026 without workforce restructuring plans.
