Emirates Flight Catering has begun construction on a new AED 160 million (USD 44 million) laundry facility at Dubai Investment Park. The expansion is aimed at growing the capacity of its laundry services division, Linencraft, in response to increasing demand from the UAE’s hospitality, aviation, and healthcare sectors.

The company expects the new site to boost Linencraft’s operational capacity by more than 50 percent. This will allow the onboarding of 40 additional hospitality clients and lead to the creation of 400 direct jobs. The facility will feature advanced automation and next-generation laundry equipment designed to improve efficiency, reduce manual labor, and maintain high-volume output. Its design includes redundancies in key processes to ensure operations continue even during peak periods. Energy-efficient systems are also incorporated to help minimize environmental impact.

This expansion comes as the UAE prepares for significant growth in its commercial laundry sector. Factors such as the expected addition of over 10,000 hotel rooms by 2027, upcoming international events, and ongoing expansion at Dubai Airport are projected to drive demand for large-scale laundry services. Additionally, both public and private sectors are seeing increased needs for staff uniform and institutional laundry services.

Shahreyar Nawabi, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Flight Catering, stated: “Linencraft has long set the benchmark for quality and reliability in the UAE’s laundry sector. This bold investment reflects both the scale of opportunity we see in the market and our determination to lead the industry forward. With this advanced facility, we’re not just increasing capacity - we’re setting new standards through smart technology and a sharp focus on sustainability.”

ASIA Prime, a general contracting and construction management firm based in the UAE, is delivering Linencraft’s new facility. Waddah Basmaji, Managing Director of Asia Prime General Contracting said: “At Asia Prime, we take immense pride in partnering with Emirates Flight Catering on Linencraft’s new facility. This groundbreaking marks more than the beginning of construction, it symbolizes our commitment to quality and delivering beyond expectations. Our focus is to ensure Emirates Flight Catering’s complete satisfaction by upholding the highest standards throughout every phase of the project. We are honoured to play a part in their continued growth and operational excellence.”

The new facility will add 150 tons of daily capacity to Linencraft’s current network that processes 280 tons per day across four locations. It will include two modular bulk laundry units with a combined capacity of 142 tons per day and a dedicated garment plant capable of handling over 28,000 pieces each day.

Linencraft remains one of the largest providers of laundry services in the UAE.
