ITA Airways announced on X that it is extending the suspension of flights to and from Tel Aviv through September 30, including the cancellation of flights AZ809 and AZ815 on October 1. Rebooking and refund options are available for affected passengers.

According to Reuters, ITA Airways' continued suspension of flights to and from Tel Aviv reflects the airline's response to ongoing security concerns following recent escalations in the region. Airlines across Europe have repeatedly adjusted operations into Israel amid fluctuating risk levels related to regional conflict. Reuters reports that this industry-wide caution is in line with recommendations from aviation regulators and safety authorities.

Travel and Tour World reports that ITA Airways officially notified travelers that the suspension covers all Tel Aviv flights until September 30, including AZ809 and AZ815 scheduled for October 1. The airline’s statement outlined that affected customers can request either a full refund or opt to rebook their journey at a later date. This aligns with the approach taken by several other European airlines, who have also announced rolling suspensions in light of ongoing security concerns in the region.

DansDeals, a prominent travel industry resource, confirmed on July 30, 2025, that ITA Airways had issued an advisory to passengers about the extended service halt, instructing travelers to check the Flight Info section on the airline’s website for live status updates. The report emphasized that ITA Airways’ announcement followed similar moves by carriers such as Ryanair and Lufthansa, highlighting a coordinated industry response to the situation. Passengers are advised to monitor updates closely and consider flexible travel arrangements during this period.

According to the official ITA Airways website, the airline was founded in 2021 as Italy’s new national flag carrier and currently operates a network of domestic, European, and intercontinental routes. ITA Airways publishes all operational updates, flight suspensions, and customer service advisories through its official website and social media channels. The carrier complies with European Union aviation regulations, which require airlines to provide rebooking or refunds for canceled flights.
