Airbus faces delays with 60 completed jets awaiting engine deliveries

Airbus has confirmed that it currently has about 60 aircraft that are assembled but cannot be delivered because they are waiting for engines. The engines, which are sourced from external suppliers rather than being manufactured by Airbus itself, have become a bottleneck in the delivery process.

The company’s CEO disclosed the situation, highlighting the impact of supply chain delays on final assembly and deliveries. Aircraft manufacturers like Airbus and Boeing rely on third-party suppliers for critical components such as avionics, cabin seating, and especially engines. Delays from these suppliers can disrupt the production timeline and lead to undelivered planes accumulating at factories.
