Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has announced the integration of real-time delivery notifications into LINE, a popular messaging app in Taiwan. This move aims to improve convenience and flexibility for e-commerce customers in the region.

The new feature is part of the FedEx Delivery Manager International (FDMi) service, which allows residential customers to choose when and where their packages are delivered. Customers can also change delivery addresses while shipments are in transit, without additional charges.

LINE has over 21 million active users in Taiwan, reaching most smartphone users in the country. Its widespread use makes it an important tool for businesses to communicate with consumers. By linking their mobile number to the official FedEx LINE account, recipients will receive real-time updates on shipment status. They can also access FedEx’s customer service page directly through LINE, removing the need for extra apps and improving user experience. According to data from Statista, LINE is a leading platform for digital communication in Taiwan (https://www.statista.com/topics/3277/line/).

Paul Sousa, managing director of FedEx Taiwan, stated: “Delivering an exceptional customer experience has always been at the core of our business. By integrating LINE—a platform with deep user engagement and widespread popularity in Taiwan—into our digital ecosystem, we’re not only enhancing convenience, but also reaffirming our commitment to innovation and customer-centric solutions. This integration brings FDMi even closer to the daily lives of Taiwanese customers and further strengthens our leadership in digital transformation and smart logistics.”

FedEx has recently introduced several digital tools aimed at improving logistics efficiency in Taiwan. These include the FedEx Import Tool for import clearance management and shipment tracking, as well as FedEx Surround Monitoring and Intervention Solution launched earlier this year. The latter uses sensor data and predictive analytics to monitor high-value or time-sensitive shipments, increasing visibility and risk management capabilities.

These initiatives are designed to help businesses better manage logistics operations while providing flexible services that meet changing market demands.
