Alaska Airlines has launched a new promotion aimed at attracting more members to its Mileage Plan loyalty program. For a limited period, individuals who enroll in the program for the first time can receive a discount on a future Alaska Airlines flight.

The offer provides new members with a $25 discount code after signing up, which must be used within 28 days to book a flight. If the booking is made within 14 days of enrollment, the discount increases to $50. All participants are required to opt in to receive email communications from Alaska Airlines.

Residents of Alaska are not eligible for this promotion. However, residents of California and Hawaii have access to their own $50 discount offer if they join the Mileage Plan and book a flight within 28 days.

"Only first-time Mileage Plan enrollees over 18 are eligible for this promotion. The initial $25 discount code will be sent via email within 72 hours of enrollment and must be used by Oct. 15. If you unlock the $50 discount offer, the extra $25 discount code will be sent separately after your flight booking is confirmed."

Mileage Plan is part of the Oneworld alliance, which includes airlines such as American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, and Qantas. The airline’s recent merger with Hawaiian Airlines has also contributed to increased interest in its loyalty program.

Alaska Airlines has additional partnerships with international carriers including Icelandair, Korean Air, LATAM, Singapore Airlines, and Starlux Airlines. These relationships allow members to earn miles through various means beyond flying, such as shopping portals and cobranded credit cards.

"It's always a good idea to sign up for loyalty programs that have international reach and offer strong value; Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan checks both boxes. When you throw in that you're getting potentially up to $50 off a flight just to sign up, it's really worth a closer look."

For more information or to sign up for the promotion, visit Alaska's official website.
