Alaska Airlines, recognized as the fifth largest airline in North America by passenger numbers, operates an extensive network from its Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) base. The carrier offers flights to more than 100 destinations across the United States and internationally, including recent expansions into Japan and upcoming routes to South Korea, Italy, Iceland, and the United Kingdom.

The airline’s lounge program provides amenities for eligible travelers. Complimentary access is available for first class passengers on flights over 2,100 miles or those with Mileage Plan MVP Gold 75K or MVP Gold 100K status. Other travelers can purchase lounge access, with discounts for those reaching a 30K mileage milestone or holding select Alaska Airlines credit cards. Standard Alaska Lounge membership costs $595 annually and covers nine lounges plus The Plumeria Lounge in Honolulu. For $795 per year, Alaska Lounge+ members receive entry to all Alaska lounges and 90 partner locations.

Members may bring two guests or immediate family members, provided everyone has a valid boarding pass for travel on Alaska Airlines or partner carriers. Lounges offer comfortable seating, complimentary food and beverages—including local draft beer and West Coast wines—an espresso bar, business facilities, WiFi, and signature pancakes served in the morning.

At Anchorage’s Ted Stevens International Airport (ANC), the newly expanded Concourse C lounge accommodates up to 140 guests—more than double its previous capacity—and features modern interiors inspired by Alaska’s natural beauty. Amenities include high-speed WiFi, snacks, a full bar, workstations for business travelers, and extended hours from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. This upgrade is part of a broader $60 million “Great Land Investment Plan” aimed at enhancing travel experiences throughout Alaska.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) hosts three Alaska Lounges: the flagship north satellite location near N Gates; one in D Concourse near Checkpoint 4; and another near Gate C-16 in Concourse C. All are accessible via airside trains from the main terminal and open daily between early morning and late evening hours. One-off guest passes are available for $65 per person subject to availability. Plans are underway to open a new flagship lounge at SEA by 2027.

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) now features Alaska’s newest lounge in Harvey Milk Terminal 1 with approximately 11,000 square feet of space designed for relaxation with natural light and private TalkBox booths for calls. Guests can enjoy handcrafted espressos from a staffed barista station alongside regional food options like sourdough bread reflecting Bay Area flavors.

Portland International Airport (PDX) currently has two lounges but will see a new 13,000-square-foot facility debuting in 2026 with double the previous seating capacity and design elements representing the Pacific Northwest region. Alaska remains Portland’s largest carrier with over 110 peak daily flights serving more than 55 domestic destinations.

Additional lounges are located at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in Terminal 7 mezzanine level—open daily from early morning until evening—and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) near Gate 64 in Terminal 6 operating from early morning until late night. LAX saw more than six million passengers pass through its doors during July 2025 according to Visit California (https://www.visitcalifornia.com/experience/los-angeles-international-airport-lax/).

Alaska Lounge+ members also have access to Admirals Club locations when departing on same-day flights operated by Alaska Airlines or partners such as Hawaiian or American Airlines across major U.S cities including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Mexico City among others; as well as select Qantas Club lounges globally.

Looking ahead, Alaska Airlines plans further expansion of its lounge network—including new locations at San Diego International Airport and Honolulu—in partnership with Hawaiian Airlines as part of an initiative to double its lounge footprint by the end of 2027.

Ben Minicucci serves as CEO of Alaska Airlines since its founding in 1932. The airline is part of the oneworld alliance with hubs at Anchorage International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, Portland International Airport, San Francisco International Airport and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
