Flying by private jet between New York City and Dubai has become a popular option for wealthy travelers seeking flexibility and efficiency. Private aviation allows passengers to choose their departure times and use smaller airports that are not accessible to commercial airlines.

In New York City, most private jet flights depart from Teterboro Airport (TEB), which is dedicated exclusively to private aviation and operates 24/7. Other options include Westchester County Airport (HPN), preferred by those living in the northern suburbs or Connecticut due to its location over 30 miles north of Midtown Manhattan.

Dubai, with over 3.5 million residents, is recognized as one of the world’s wealthiest cities and a hub for private jet travel. While Dubai International Airport (DXB) is the primary airport for commercial flights—handling nearly 100 million passengers in 2024 and ranking as the second-busiest airport globally—most private jets use Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC). DWC offers less congestion, faster handling, flexible slot availability, and dedicated VIP terminals for executive aviation.

The distance between New York City and Dubai is approximately 6,840 nautical miles (7,870 miles), requiring ultra-long-range business jets or converted airliners such as Boeing Business Jets (BBJ) or Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ). Gulfstream’s G800 model currently leads among purpose-built business jets with a range exceeding 8,000 nautical miles. Other aircraft capable of flying nonstop include the Gulfstream G700, G650ER, Bombardier Global 8000, Global 7500, and Dassault Falcon 10X.

Some smaller business jets can make this trip with a single refueling stop. These include Gulfstream models like the G500 and G600; Dassault models such as the Falcon 2000EX, Falcon 900EX, Falcon 7X, and Falcon 8X; as well as Bombardier's Global Express family and Challenger 650.

Travelers have several ways to arrange private flights on this route: fractional ownership shares in an aircraft; direct charter flights arranged per trip; or jet card memberships that offer pre-paid blocks of flight hours at set rates.

The cost for a one-way charter flight using an ultra-long-range business jet like the Gulfstream G650ER or Bombardier Global 7500 typically starts around $125,000. Opting for a VIP-configured airliner such as a BBJ or ACJ can raise costs up to $300,000 or more depending on configuration and services provided. Additional factors affecting price include landing fees at airports like DXB—which handled record passenger numbers in recent years—crew accommodations, luxury ground transport arrangements, and catering preferences. The overall price range for flying privately between these two cities generally falls between $125,000 and $400,000 depending on multiple variables.

"Overall, flying from Dubai to New York City, or vice versa, can range from around $125,000 to up to $400,000, depending on the many variables of flying privately."
