American Airlines launches grab-and-go Admirals Lounge at Charlotte Douglas Airport
Policy

American Airlines has opened a new grab-and-go lounge at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina. The facility, named Provisions by Admirals Club, is located next to gate A1 and is designed for passengers who need quick access to refreshments without spending extra time in the lounge.

This marks the first time American Airlines has introduced such a concept. The company described the lounge as "designed for speed, simplicity, and convenience." The move follows a trend among U.S. airlines, with Delta Air Lines having launched similar models in its Sky Club lounges since 2023.

The Provisions by Admirals Club offers breakfast from 06:15 to 11:00 and all-day options until 22:45. Vegetarian choices are available throughout operating hours. Heather Garboden, Chief Customer Officer at American Airlines, stated:

"We’re excited to open this new lounge space for our customers at CLT. Millions of customers travel through CLT on American every year, and the Provisions by Admirals Club lounge is focused on providing those customers with an easy and convenient solution during their travel journey."

Food provided in the lounge consists of prepackaged items that are prepared fresh daily. Breakfast selections include pastries, snack mixes, yogurt, fruit options, and meal boxes. For the rest of the day, travelers can choose from salty snacks, sweet treats, filling meal boxes, canned or bottled drinks, tea, and coffee.

In addition to food and beverages, two staff members will be present to assist guests with travel needs. Access requirements remain consistent with other Admirals Club lounges.

Charlotte Douglas International Airport serves as one of American Airlines' primary hubs. In August alone, American scheduled over 38,000 flights to and from Charlotte—more than half operated directly by American’s mainline fleet while the remainder were regional feeder services under the American Eagle brand. Most flights serve domestic destinations; international service accounts for less than seven percent of total operations each month.

According to Cirium data cited in Simple Flying's coverage (https://simpleflying.com/american-airlines-grab-go-admirals-lounge-charlotte-douglas/), Cancun and London Heathrow are among Charlotte’s busiest international routes operated by American Airlines.

American Airlines was founded in 1926 and operates as a full-service carrier out of several major U.S. airports including Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Miami International Airport.

The introduction of this new lounge reflects growing demand for flexible airport amenities that cater to travelers’ varying schedules.
