Swiss International Air Lines has introduced a new premium offering for its first-class passengers called the "Grand Suite." The product was unveiled as part of the airline’s ongoing upgrade to its first-class cabins, which will debut on the Airbus A350-900 later this year.

The Grand Suite is designed by combining the center "Suite Plus"—which seats two passengers—and a neighboring "Single Suite" across the aisle. This configuration creates a larger private space that can accommodate up to three passengers. According to Swiss, this combined suite can serve multiple functions, such as a conference room, bedroom, or office. The entire area is enclosed by walls nearly six feet high, similar to the individual suites.

“With our new SWISS First Grand Suite, we're further expanding our First Class service product with an option that is specifically aimed at those of our top premium customers who are seeking even more privacy and even more scope to design their personal space on board,” said Heike Birlenbach, Swiss chief commercial officer.

“Our Grand Suite should give our guests all the feeling of having their own 'loft aloft' — a space that they can use as they wish, to relax, to work or just to enjoy the experience,” Birlenbach added.

The Grand Suite will be available on flights between Boston and Zurich starting in January when Swiss launches its A350 service on this route. The airline plans to introduce more Grand Suites as it takes delivery of additional A350 aircraft and will also retrofit its existing Airbus A330s and Boeing 777s with this new product.

At present, booking options for the Grand Suite appear limited; Swiss says it will only be available through its first-class phone hotline and not through points or miles redemptions.

Further details about the new first-class cabin design and other related products were announced last month as part of Swiss's broader effort to enhance its onboard offerings for premium travelers.
