Allegiant Air has announced plans to begin service at Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) in California, marking its first time operating from the suburban Los Angeles airport. The Las Vegas-based budget airline will launch nonstop flights from Burbank starting February 12, 2026.

The new routes will connect Burbank with Bellingham International Airport (BLI) in Washington and Provo Airport (PVU) in Utah. This move continues Allegiant's strategy of serving smaller airports that are often underserved by larger carriers.

"This growth underscores our commitment to providing leisure travelers with more options to reach the destinations they love and strengthens our position as a leader in offering value-oriented air service," said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief commercial officer.

Hollywood Burbank Airport has seen significant changes recently. Avelo Airlines announced it would end its base at BUR and withdraw all service by December, effectively ending its West Coast operations. In response, Breeze Airways introduced five new routes from Burbank, while Alaska Airlines added three additional West Coast flights earlier this summer.

In addition to the new California services, Allegiant also revealed it will start nonstop flights between Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (CHA) in Tennessee and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), also beginning February 12.

The announcement comes shortly after reports that Allegiant is considering updates to its four-year-old loyalty program. Executives indicated that changes may be forthcoming to make the program more appealing to travelers.
