Chase Freedom Flex cardholders have a new opportunity to earn additional cash back on purchases made through November 30. The promotion allows eligible users to receive up to an extra 1% cash back after meeting certain spending thresholds during the offer period.

The bonus is available without the need for activation. Cardholders will automatically earn an additional 0.5% cash back on their next $2,500 in purchases after spending $1,000 between September 1 and November 30. Those who spend $4,000 in the same period can instead earn an extra 1% cash back on their next $2,500 in purchases.

These bonuses are awarded on top of existing rewards categories for the Chase Freedom Flex card, which include quarterly rotating categories that offer 5% cash back (activation required), as well as ongoing rewards of 5% on purchases made through Chase Travel℠ and 3% at dining and drugstores.

The Points Guy staff reported that other Chase Freedom cards, such as the Chase Freedom Unlimited, were not included in this promotion. "Chase did not immediately respond to TPG's request for clarification."

To qualify for the bonus, transactions must post with a date within the promotional window.

Cardholders who also have eligible Chase Ultimate Rewards cards—such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card or Chase Sapphire Reserve—can transfer their cash-back earnings into points. According to The Points Guy’s September 2025 valuations, these points are valued at about 2.05 cents each (https://thepointsguy.com/credit-cards/points-valuations/), potentially increasing the value of earned rewards when used for travel redemptions.

"This new Freedom Flex offer is relatively simple to maximize, as it requires nothing but reaching a spending requirement to earn extra rewards," according to The Points Guy article.

With holiday shopping approaching, this offer may appeal to those looking to increase their rewards from everyday spending.
