Joe Esposito, Senior Vice President – Network Planning | Delta Air Lines

Delta Air Lines has announced the launch of four new nonstop routes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), expanding its service to Denver (DEN), Columbus (CMH), Kansas City (MCI), and Miami (MIA). The airline will also increase flight frequencies on existing routes to San Francisco (SFO) and Indianapolis (IND).

“With these new routes and expanded service, Delta is building on a strong foundation in Austin and creating more ways for our customers to get where they want to go,” said Paul Baldoni, Senior Vice President of Network Planning. “It’s another step in delivering the network, convenience and premium experience that sets Delta apart as Austin’s leading global carrier.”

Ghizlane Badawi, CEO of AUS, commented: "This is another exciting investment in our community from Delta. We are so grateful for their partnership and shared mission of connecting Austin and Central Texas travelers to more nonstop destinations. We look forward to the continued collaboration with the airline, especially as we make progress on expanding and improving our airport.”

The new routes offer travelers direct access to several business and leisure destinations. With these additions, Delta now serves nearly 30 destinations from Austin. The route details include:

- Denver: Service begins November 9, 2025, with two daily flights operated by SkyWest using Embraer 175 aircraft.

- Miami: Daily service starts November 22, 2025, on Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

- Columbus: Once-daily service begins June 7, 2026, via SkyWest on Embraer 175.

- Kansas City: Twice-daily flights start June 7, 2026, through SkyWest using Embraer 175.

Expanded services include:

- San Francisco: From April 13, 2026, flights will increase from one to two daily using Airbus A319 aircraft.

- Indianapolis: Starting June 7, 2026, service expands from one to three daily flights.

Delta reports having carried over one million passengers through Austin this year—an increase of about twelve percent compared to last year. Additional domestic service to Palm Springs launches in November; international flights to Cancun and Cabo San Lucas begin in December.

The airline notes that its Delta Sky Club at AUS remains popular among travelers for its local design elements and beverage offerings. For the past three years, it has ranked highest in customer satisfaction within the Southern region.

In October, Delta plans to open a permanent flight attendant base in Austin as part of efforts to strengthen its operational presence locally.

“This is fantastic news for the Lone Star State! Delta’s decision to open a flight attendant base and continue its expansion in Austin will open more travel choices for Texans, bring hundreds of good-paying jobs, boost local businesses, and further cement Texas as a national leader in economic growth and innovation,” said Texas Senator Ted Cruz. “I am excited to see the opportunities this brings to our great state.”
