Delta Air Lines continues to use its Boeing 767 fleet for a significant number of long-haul and transcontinental flights from New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), despite the model’s gradual phase-out in favor of newer aircraft like the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A350. According to ch-aviation, Delta operates 61 Boeing 767s: 40 are the 767-300ER variant, averaging nearly 30 years old, while the remaining 21 are larger-capacity 767-400ERs with an average age of about 25 years.

Data from Cirium shows that Delta scheduled a total of 10,764 Boeing 767 flights from JFK in 2025. The airline’s busiest route using this aircraft is between JFK and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), with a planned total of 2,978 flights offering over 666,000 seats throughout the year. Delta configures its 767-300ERs with four cabin classes and a total of 216 seats; the larger -400ERs seat up to 238 passengers.

Delta operates up to ten daily flights on the JFK-LAX corridor using both types of Boeing 767s. Other airlines such as JetBlue Airways, American Airlines, and Frontier Airlines also serve this route but use Airbus A321neo narrowbody aircraft instead. The next most-served domestic route by Delta’s Boeing 767s is between JFK and San Francisco International Airport (SFO), with a total of 1,585 flights in the year.

On transatlantic routes, Delta's Boeing 767 fleet remains active. In total, these aircraft will operate nearly five thousand flights to Europe from JFK in 2025 across two dozen destinations. The busiest European destination is Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) with more than six hundred scheduled flights—amounting to over one hundred forty-seven thousand seats offered during the year. London Heathrow Airport (LHR) follows as the second-busiest transatlantic route with more than three hundred sixty-eight flights planned.

Dublin Airport (DUB) ranks third among transatlantic destinations served by Delta’s Boeing 767s from JFK in terms of flight numbers for next year. Zurich (ZRH) and Venice (VCE) round out the top five European cities reached by these widebodies.

Other European destinations include Reykjavík, Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Brussels, Geneva, Naples, Catania, Lisbon, Madrid, Prague, Milan, Shannon, London Gatwick, Rome and Amsterdam.

In addition to U.S. domestic and European services operated by its aging fleet of Boeing widebodies out of New York-JFK airport hub—which is one among several major hubs for Delta—some Latin American routes are also flown using this type but at lower frequencies: ninety-nine scheduled flights connect JFK with Rio de Janeiro Galeão International Airport (GIG), while eighty-seven link it to São Paulo/Guarulhos–Governor André Franco Montoro International Airport (GRU). There are also three hundred two scheduled services between New York-JFK and Honolulu (HNL).

Delta Air Lines’ network includes multiple other hubs across North America including Boston Logan International Airport; Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport; Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport; Los Angeles International Airport; Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport; LaGuardia Airport; Salt Lake City International Airport; Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Additional domestic transcontinental connections operated by Delta’s Boeing widebodies from JFK include Atlanta (ATL)—with nearly four hundred annual departures—as well as Salt Lake City (SLC), San Diego (SAN), Phoenix (PHX), Denver (DEN), Las Vegas (LAS), Miami (MIA), and Orlando (MCO).
