American Airlines has announced it will begin nonstop flights between Vero Beach Regional Airport and Charlotte Douglas International Airport starting February 12, 2026. This marks the first time travelers from Vero Beach will have access to American’s global network via its hub in Charlotte, expanding connections across the U.S. and internationally.
The new route will operate daily throughout the year, using a Bombardier CRJ-900 regional jet operated by PSA Airlines, an affiliate of American Eagle. The aircraft includes 12 first-class seats and 64 economy seats, with 24 of those offering extra legroom.
Vero Beach Regional Airport has recently increased its commercial air service options after previously focusing on general aviation. Breeze Airways began serving Vero Beach with flights to Hartford, Connecticut, before expanding to seven destinations in the Northeast and establishing an operating base at the airport. JetBlue also announced last month that it would start flights from Boston and New York to Vero Beach in December.
