Air India has announced a new offer for senior travelers, providing up to 10% off base fares across all international cabins. This initiative, shared on the social media platform X, applies to passengers aged 60 and above and includes Economy, Premium Economy, Business, and First Class. The offer is part of Air India's efforts to make overseas travel more affordable for older passengers.

According to Upstox, the discount applies only to the base fare portion of the ticket and excludes taxes and surcharges. The promotion is valid for bookings made until November 30, 2025, offering seniors a clear timeframe to take advantage of this opportunity.

The scheme also offers one free date change, allowing older passengers the flexibility to reschedule their trips. Khaleej Times reports that this feature enables travelers to shift their flight dates without incurring standard change fees, although they must still pay any fare differences. This flexibility can be particularly beneficial for seniors who may face medical or family-related uncertainties affecting fixed travel schedules.

In addition to discounts and flexibility, the program provides extra baggage allowance for senior citizens. NDTV states that under this scheme, Economy travelers can carry up to 40 kg, Premium Economy up to 45 kg, and Business Class up to 50 kg. This expanded allowance considers the needs of senior travelers who often pack medical devices or extra clothing when traveling long-haul.

Air India is owned by the Tata Group and operates a growing domestic and international network with a fleet of more than 120 aircraft serving destinations in Asia, Europe, North America, and Australia. According to Wikipedia, the introduction of senior citizen discounts across its international network reinforces Air India's broader strategy to enhance inclusivity in air travel and expand its reach in the global aviation market.
