IHG Hotels & Resorts has launched a new promotion allowing members of its IHG One Rewards program to earn up to triple points on stays between October 1 and December 31, 2025. Registration for the offer is now open.

According to IHG, after registering for the promotion, members will not receive bonus points on their first qualifying stay. Double points are awarded on the second qualifying stay, and triple points begin with the third qualifying stay. The maximum bonus available through this offer is 70,000 points.

A qualifying stay is defined as one night or longer booked at a qualifying rate with spending of more than $30 per night. Stays that occur outside the promotional period or before registration do not count toward earning bonus points. Reward nights booked using certificates or IHG points, as well as cash and points stays and bookings made through online travel agencies, are excluded from eligibility. Only one room per member per night can earn double or triple points under this promotion. Bonus points earned in this way do not count toward elite status qualification.

The calculation of double or triple points applies only to base points earned during eligible stays. Most IHG hotels award 10 base points per dollar spent; Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites award five base points per dollar spent. For example, a $100 spend at Holiday Inn Express would yield 1,000 base points; if it’s a member’s second qualifying stay during the promotion, they would receive an additional 1,000 bonus points (double), while third and subsequent stays would result in an extra 2,000 bonus points (triple). Elite status holders continue to earn their usual elite bonuses based on base point earnings but do not gain additional benefits from this particular promotion.

Members interested in maximizing their rewards are encouraged to register even if they have no immediate plans for an IHG stay.

"IHG defines a qualifying stay as a stay of one night or longer booked under a qualifying rate and spending more than $30 per night. Nights outside Oct. 1 to Dec. 31 — or those that are part of a stay you complete before registering for this promotion — don't count."

"Reward nights (including those booked with anniversary night certificates or IHG points), points and cash stays, and stays booked through online travel agencies aren't eligible. Finally, each member can only earn double or triple points on one room per night, and the bonus points you earn through this promotion aren't elite status qualifying points."

"It's important to understand how IHG calculates the double and triple points for this promotion, as it might not be as lucrative as you'd expect if you have IHG One Rewards elite status."

"In short, IHG is doubling or tripling the base points (but not the bonus points) you earn on qualifying stays during the promotion."

"If you have IHG elite status, you'd also earn bonus points as usual based on your status tier. But having elite status doesn't help you earn more points through this promotion since IHG calculates both the elite and the promotional bonus points based on the base points you earn."
