Julieta McCurry, Vice President - In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity Strategy | Delta Air Lines

Delta Air Lines has announced a new partnership with YouTube to expand its in-flight entertainment options. Starting immediately, passengers on Delta flights will have access to a selection of YouTube videos, podcasts, and music playlists both through seatback screens and via personal devices using the airline’s Delta Sync Wi-Fi.

Julieta McCurry, Delta’s Vice President of In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity, said, “This partnership was born from a simple but powerful insight: our customers love YouTube. As two leaders in our respective spaces, each with a legacy of innovation and a deep commitment to serving as agents of human connection, Delta and YouTube are uniquely positioned to deliver an unmatched customer experience – one that meets you where you are and helps you discover more of your world.”

More than 930 aircraft in Delta’s fleet are equipped with fast, free Wi-Fi powered by T-Mobile. Passengers can use this service domestically and internationally to stream content on their own devices. Additionally, U.S.-based SkyMiles members flying domestically will be able to access a 14-day free preview of YouTube Premium when logged into Delta Sync Wi-Fi starting October 1. This trial allows for ad-free viewing and listening across YouTube and YouTube Music without requiring payment information.

Delta is also updating its boarding music by partnering with YouTube Music to create an instrumental pop soundscape developed alongside flight attendants.

Miguel Quiroga, Vice President of Product Partnerships at YouTube, commented on the collaboration: “We’re incredibly proud to bring the best of YouTube and YouTube Premium to the Delta in-flight entertainment experience. Whether it’s on TVs, phones, or now seatback screens, there’s so many ways to experience YouTube’s top creators, culture-defining podcasts, and fan-favorite music content. All of which is made even better with free access to YouTube Premium, so travelers can enjoy all of YouTube and YouTube Music uninterrupted.”

The partnership is part of broader efforts by Delta to modernize its entertainment offerings through technology collaborations. The company recently received recognition as Best Airline Entertainment in the 2025 Rolling Stone Travel Awards for its range of onboard content.

Looking ahead, Delta plans to introduce a next-generation seatback system based on cloud technology beginning in 2026. This system aims to provide more personalized experiences for passengers.

Delta currently operates over 165,000 seatback screens across more than 930 aircraft—more than any other domestic competitor—allowing customers multiple ways to access entertainment during their journey.
