Breeze Airways has announced it will begin international service for the first time, following regulatory approval. The airline will launch seven new routes to destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean starting early next year.

The expansion includes nonstop flights from four U.S. cities—Charleston, New Orleans, Norfolk, and Providence—to Cancun, Mexico. Additional new routes will connect Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Tampa International Airport will also gain a new route to Montego Bay.

Each of these routes is scheduled as seasonal service during the winter months. The Charleston-Cancun flight begins January 17 and operates weekly on Saturdays. New Orleans-Cancun starts February 7; Norfolk-Cancun launches January 10; Providence-Cancun begins February 14—all once weekly on Saturdays. RDU-Montego Bay starts March 5 with twice-weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays, while RDU-Punta Cana begins March 4 with twice-weekly flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Tampa-Montego Bay starts February 11 with twice-weekly service on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Raleigh-Durham International Airport is notably expanding its international reach, having recently added Aer Lingus service to Ireland. Breeze already operates more than two dozen routes out of RDU and announced that it will make RDU an official crew base by early 2026—a move expected to create around 200 pilot and flight attendant jobs in North Carolina's Research Triangle area.

Breeze’s Chief Commercial Officer Lukas Johnson stated: "These are a lot of the biggest destinations, internationally, from a lot of our bases down on the East Coast," adding, "So [we'll] start with a couple of the most popular destinations and look to expand from there."

Breeze Airways was launched in 2021 by JetBlue founder David Neeleman. Its international flights will use Airbus A220 aircraft featuring domestic first-class-style seating options as well as coach seats with extra legroom available.

The airline offers four fare tiers: No Flex (basic), Nice (includes carry-on), Nicer (checked bag plus carry-on and extra-legroom seat), and Nicest (two checked bags, carry-on, first-class Ascent seat).

This seven-route international launch follows Breeze gaining flag carrier status from the U.S. Department of Transportation, paving the way for future international growth as its fleet expands.
