Copa Airlines has launched a new route between Panama City and Tucuman, Argentina, marking its first service to this Argentinian city. The inaugural flight took place on September 24, with three weekly departures using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Flights are scheduled to align with Copa’s peak South American connection times at its Panama hub. With this addition, Copa now operates flights to six cities in Argentina and serves a total of 36 destinations across South America. In January 2026, the airline plans to increase its Argentinian services to up to 91 weekly flights.

China Eastern Airlines has resumed service between Shanghai Pudong and Vancouver after several years. The carrier began twice-weekly Airbus A350-900 flights on September 25, making it China Eastern’s only North American A350 route. The airline faces direct competition from Air Canada on this corridor. "In September 2025, Air Canada, Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, Hainan, Sichuan Airlines, and Xiamen all have passenger flights from mainland China to Vancouver," indicating that while there is some recovery in air traffic between these locations since the COVID-19 pandemic, average daily departures remain lower than pre-pandemic levels.

On September 26, China Eastern also began four weekly flights from Shanghai to Barcelona using the A350-900. This route targets a market of approximately 120,000 annual passengers and competes directly with Air China for travelers between China and Spain's second-largest city.

Boston Logan Airport introduced a new short-haul intrastate connection to New Bedford through Cape Air on September 29. The twice-daily service uses nine-seat Cessna 402 aircraft for the brief 41-nautical-mile journey—Boston's second-shortest air route after Provincetown. These flights are designed primarily for connections with Cape Air’s partners in Boston.

United Express has reinstated service in Columbia, Missouri as of September 25. Using SkyWest-operated aircraft, United Express now connects Columbia with Chicago O’Hare (two daily flights) and Denver (daily), with an increase planned for December. The move brings back United Express service that had previously ended in 2021.

Etihad Airways has returned to Peshawar after an absence of eleven years due to earlier safety concerns. Starting September 29, Etihad operates five weekly flights from Abu Dhabi using Airbus A320ceo aircraft. "So far this year, it has announced 30 new or returning routes for 2025/2026," reflecting recent network expansion by the airline.

Wizz Air commenced its first-ever service to Gyumri in Armenia on September 30 with twice-weekly year-round flights from Larnaca using Cyprus-based crews and A321neo aircraft. This is the first time Gyumri has had such a connection; Wizz Air already operates between Larnaca and Yerevan.

Lastly, Lufthansa Group marked ten years of nonstop service between Frankfurt and Tampa during the past week. Since launching the route in September 2015—initially operated by Lufthansa's own aircraft before transitioning to Discover—the service has carried more than 900,000 round-trip passengers.
