FedEx Corp. has introduced a new flight route between Dublin, Ireland, and Indianapolis, Indiana. The service operates four days a week using a 767 aircraft and connects Dublin directly with Indianapolis, which is the company’s second-largest hub.

The company says this direct route will help shipments from Dublin avoid busy coastal entry points in the United States and arrive at their destinations one day sooner. It also provides U.S.-based shippers with improved access to European markets that are important for high-tech, healthcare, and transportation industries.

“This flight highlights the success of our Tricolor international network redesign strategy in strengthening our capabilities in the global air freight market,” said Richard Smith, chief operating officer, international and chief executive officer, airline. “By adding this route, U.S.-based customers can reduce delivery times to one of Europe’s key innovation hubs, where industries like healthcare, electronics, and aerospace are experiencing significant growth. Our network, augmented by advanced digital tools, is designed to support customers in these expanding sectors.”

Wouter Roels, regional president of FedEx Europe added: “Ireland is a vibrant export market, with around 68% of total goods exported in early 2025 going into the U.S. – with industries like pharmaceuticals and medical equipment leading the way. The addition of a direct flight between Dublin and Indianapolis marks a proud milestone for FedEx, connecting businesses across key industries with U.S. growth markets.”

FedEx provides several digital tools for shipment tracking as well as import and export management. Services such as FedEx Delivery Manager and FedEx Import Tools are intended to make shipping more efficient for customers. For e-commerce businesses seeking balance between speed and cost, the company offers FedEx International Connect Plus (FICP). Customers shipping high-value items or sensitive goods can use FedEx Surround Monitoring & Intervention tools that rely on real-time monitoring through AI and machine learning.

The launch comes after the recent opening of a cold-chain facility at the Indianapolis hub covering over 16,000 square feet. This facility includes three temperature-controlled zones—ranging from minus 25°C to minus 10°C (minus 13°F to 14°F), 2°C to 8°C (35°F to 46°F), and 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F)—and features a re-icing room.
