Porter Airlines has announced the addition of three new routes to the United States for the upcoming winter season. The Canadian airline will begin flights from Vancouver to Phoenix, Ottawa to Phoenix, and Ottawa to Miami. These new services are scheduled to launch between late January and early February 2026.

The expansion is part of Porter's efforts to increase connectivity for Canadian travelers seeking warmer destinations during winter. All new US-bound flights will use Porter’s Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which can carry up to 132 passengers in an all-economy configuration.

The route from Vancouver (YVR) to Phoenix (PHX) marks Porter’s first transborder service from Vancouver and will operate daily starting February 2, 2026. The Ottawa (YOW) to Miami (MIA) route will start on January 24, 2026, with three flights per week. Service from Ottawa to Phoenix will also run three times weekly beginning February 7, 2026.

In addition, Porter plans its first Caribbean service out of Montreal with a Montreal Trudeau (YUL)–Nassau (NAS) flight launching on February 5, 2026, operating three times a week.

Kevin Jackson, President of Porter Airlines, stated: "We are committed to bringing our elevated economy experience to more travellers by connecting key gateways with sun destinations at the time of year when these trips are most valued by Canadians. This growth is about offering more choices, more convenience, and the outstanding service our passengers have come to expect from Porter."

To meet demand for travel during Canada’s winter months, Porter intends to increase capacity on southern routes by up to 25% at peak times this winter. This includes adding frequencies from Hamilton, Ottawa and Toronto Pearson airports to destinations such as the Cayman Islands, Costa Rica and Mexico.

Porter recently entered into a codeshare agreement with American Airlines that began on September 29. The partnership allows American Airlines’ code on select Porter flights from Toronto Pearson—where American says it is the leading US carrier with over 25 peak daily departures—and places Porter's code on certain American transborder and domestic flights as well as some Caribbean and Latin American routes. Both airlines anticipate expanding their codeshare relationship in the future.

Before this agreement with Porter Airlines, American did not have a Canadian codeshare partner; Delta Air Lines works with WestJet while United partners with Air Canada.

Travel between Canada and the United States has been declining in recent months but Canada remains the largest source of tourism into the US.
