FedEx has expanded its air network in Asia by adding two new flight routes, aiming to improve logistics efficiency and strengthen regional connectivity for businesses. The company says these changes will help companies take advantage of the growing interconnectedness of Asian economies.

One of the new routes is a weekly flight connecting Incheon International Airport in South Korea with Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, Vietnam, before continuing to FedEx’s Asia Pacific transshipment center in Guangzhou, China. According to FedEx, this route reduces delivery times from northern Vietnam to all Asian and European destinations covered by FedEx services by one day. The company believes that improved service and increased capacity will benefit customers seeking access to Asian and European markets as their trade needs grow.

FedEx has also introduced a direct daily flight between Incheon International Airport in South Korea and Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan. This new connection is expected to strengthen links for high-tech industries along key trade corridors and support the region’s growing e-commerce sector. By providing faster direct connections and improving supply chain efficiency, FedEx aims to assist companies like Olive Young—a leading Korean beauty retailer—in expanding their global operations through enhanced cross-border logistics capabilities.

The expansion comes at a time when demand for air cargo is rising due to seasonal peaks and shifts in trade patterns across Asia-Pacific. Manufacturers and exporters are expected to benefit from improved supply chain efficiency on major trade lanes within Asia, between Asia and Europe, as well as across the Pacific. The region has seen strong growth momentum in airfreight recently due to these factors (https://www.aircargonews.net/airlines/fedex-launches-first-direct-flight-between-taiwan-and-south-korea/). In particular, Southeast Asia has experienced notable increases in exports of high-value technology products (https://theloadstar.com/asia-pacific-airfreight-soars-amid-tariff-shifts-and-peak-season-demand/).

In 2024, intra-Asia trade accounted for nearly 60% of total Asian exports. ASEAN became China’s largest trading partner with bilateral trade reaching $962.98 billion. As economic ties deepen across the region, fast-growing trade routes now connect technology hubs, manufacturing centers, and emerging markets—highlighting the need for reliable time-definite logistics infrastructure.

Beyond expanding its air network, FedEx continues investing in digital solutions and customs expertise to navigate changing trade dynamics and simplify cross-border business processes. These investments are intended both to support economic growth among Asian businesses and reinforce FedEx’s commitment to providing quality service.

"These developments highlight our ongoing dedication to supporting our customers’ evolving needs," said a spokesperson from FedEx.
