British Airways has opened a new 13,000-square-foot lounge at Miami International Airport (MIA), marking the debut of its latest global lounge concept. The facility, located near Gate E20 above the airline’s gate, is designed to serve British Airways passengers and Oneworld alliance elite members traveling on international flights.

The lounge offers several amenities, including a full-service bar, a sit-down restaurant exclusive to first-class passengers, and multiple areas for work and relaxation. The design incorporates art deco elements that reflect both London and South Florida influences. "I hope you will see the Britishness come through. But I also hope you will feel Miami," said Calum Laming, Chief Customer Officer at British Airways.

Eligible visitors include British Airways Club World (business-class) or first-class customers, Oneworld frequent flyers in comparable cabins on alliance carriers, and British Airways Club members with Silver status or higher flying on eligible flights. American Airlines AAdvantage elite members with Platinum status or above can access the lounge when traveling internationally from Miami but not on domestic flights. Similarly, Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards Gold members or higher may enter with an eligible same-day Oneworld ticket.

The new lounge complements existing facilities at MIA operated by American Airlines—two Admirals Clubs and a Flagship Lounge—offering another premium option for frequent travelers using Oneworld partner airlines such as Qatar Airways, Finnair, Royal Air Maroc, Iberia (a sister airline to British Airways), as well as American and Alaska Airlines.

This opening follows similar developments at Dubai International Airport as part of a broader multibillion-dollar transformation plan announced by British Airways in 2024. The carrier also plans to upgrade lounges in Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport in the coming years.

First-class passengers have access to an exclusive Concorde Dining room within the Miami lounge where they can enjoy à la carte meals and traditional tea service. Additional features include shower suites for connecting travelers and soundproof focus rooms equipped for business needs.

British Airways recently announced it would begin nonstop service from Miami to St. Louis in spring 2026—its 27th route to the United States.

Travelers can book British Airways flights using points from major credit card programs such as American Express Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Capital One, Chase Ultimate Rewards, or via transfers through Qatar Airways Privilege Club for Citi ThankYou Rewards holders who want to use Avios points.
