Etihad Airways has expanded its network with the launch of two new routes from Abu Dhabi to Addis Ababa and Krabi. These additions are part of a broader expansion that has seen 31 destinations announced since the beginning of the year, following recent inaugurations to Medan and Phnom Penh.

The Abu Dhabi-Addis Ababa route is operated daily using a two-class Airbus A320ceo with 158 seats. The service to Krabi operates eight times weekly on a three-class Airbus A321LR, which features two first suites and 14 fully flat business beds.

This marks the first time two airlines are serving the Abu Dhabi-Addis Ababa market. Ethiopian Airlines returned to this route in July 2025 after last operating it in 2008. Ethiopian Airlines focuses on connecting passengers across Africa via Addis Ababa, while Etihad emphasizes connections to Europe and Asia through its hub in Abu Dhabi.

On the Abu Dhabi-Krabi route, Etihad becomes the second airline linking the Gulf region with this Thai destination, competing directly with flydubai. Air Arabia is also set to enter the market from Sharjah in late November.

Frontier Airlines has launched 15 new domestic routes over six days. Some destinations are entirely new for Frontier, while others mark a return after several years. Notably, Frontier introduced service between Corpus Christi and Denver, making it the first carrier to serve this city pair. This route will operate twice weekly and aims to capture both local and nearby Harlingen passengers.

Frontier also resumed flights between Tulsa and Denver, a route last served in 2022. Frontier's presence in Tulsa dates back intermittently to 2005.

In Oklahoma, Frontier now connects Oklahoma City with Denver (eight times weekly), Atlanta (three times weekly), Las Vegas (three times weekly), and Orlando (three times weekly). Tulsa is linked to Denver twice weekly.

Animawings, operating five aircraft including three Airbus A220-300s and two A320ceos, started several new routes in the past week. New services include Bucharest to Prague and Timişoara to Dubai Al-Maktoum, entering competitive markets alongside carriers like Smartwings, TAROM, and Wizz Air. Notably, Animawings launched five routes into Istanbul Airport from Romanian cities: Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Iasi, and Timişoara—the latter two connecting Istanbul for the first time.

Saudia began flights between Riyadh and Moscow Sheremetyevo on October 10, initially using a Boeing 787-10 for promotional purposes before switching to an Airbus A320ceo for regular operations three times per week. The A320ceo features 20 fully flat business seats and 90 economy seats. Saudia’s service joins existing nonstop links between Saudi Arabia and Moscow by flynas, which will add more flights later this year as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 aviation strategy.

Jet2 has added or resumed several winter city break routes in recent days. Returning services include East Midlands and Newcastle to Budapest—popular for Christmas markets—and Glasgow to Keflavik. Newcastle-Marrakech is a new addition for Jet2 after Ryanair exited that market earlier in March 2025; Jet2 will operate it twice weekly during winter before reducing frequency in late spring.
